Working for my September Exhibition

I’m still busy working on the final pieces for my September exhibition. This show will represent the work I’ve completed over a two and a half year period and shows the evolution in my work towards lighter, brighter pieces.
The paintings above are still not complete but this give a small hint of what is to come.
My Show will run from Thursday 6th September – Sunday 16th September in the Dundas Street Gallery, Edinburgh

STUDIO IN AUGUST

Here are the pieces I’ve been working on in July and August! For some reason at the moment as soon as I finish a painting I’m already mentally working on ideas to bring in more lightness and reduce shadows. I’ve not experienced such a push towards the evolution of my work!!

GREEN PEBBLE NEW BOOK
I’m very happy to receive my copy of the fantastic new book by Green Pebble. I am particularly happy to have been featured amongst the other amazing artists who take their inspiration from Nature.

“Through a world of captivating images, 44 artists take us on a journey across peaceful fields alive with hares, muntjac and cattle, through bustling farmyards, and onto hills scoured by mighty rain clouds. Nature is bountiful, providing us with the elements, the cosmos, flora, fauna, wildlife and animals, and there is no group more adept at capturing the essence of each, than ever-observant and talented artists. Enjoy! “
GREETING CARDS

Green Pebble Art Publishers have produced a range of exciting new art cards and have used 10 of my designs. I was very impressed by the sensitive approach to the creation of these cards by the team at Green Pebble. They managed very successfully to retain the essence of each of my paintings.

My Studio is a buzz of colour just now. I can’t help but notice the shift in my colour hues and a stepping away from my previous moody backgrounds!
NEW PIECE FOR SPRING
I’ve just finished this painting which seems to tie into the lovely vibrant shoots of spring and new leaves that we are being treated to just now. Spring is such a time for optimism amidst the emerging beauty.

It wont be long before these lovely Spring colours are around us all. There are definite signs of our plants waking up after their Winter snooze. Something to make us all smile.
